Scholarships in Canada for international students

1. Canadian Graduate Scholarships (CGSM)

All international students on permanent residency are eligible for the CGS M scholarship program, which supports research in the fields of health, engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities. Up to 2000 students enrolled in Canadian higher education institutions can benefit from the program. The Research Portal is where the application must be filed.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.
  • Be a Master's or Doctoral student at a Canadian institution with a CGS M allocation, or be an applicant at a Canadian institution with a CGS M allocation.
  • You must not have previously received the scholarship.
  • Has a first-class grade point average.

2. Canadian Visa Study Hub $500 Scholarship Contest

This fellowship is for international students and postgraduate employees in Canada who are currently studying or working in Canada. Every month, participants of the Canada Visa Study Hub have the chance to win a prize of $500. This is done using a random selection process. The competition is held online through the Study Hub. The application does not have a deadline.

Eligibility to Submit a Proposal

  • Become a member of the Visa Study Hub for Canada.
  • Have a valid study permit and/or employment permit for postgraduate students.
  • Proof of enrolment in a Canadian higher education institution is required.

3. Ontario Graduate Scholarships

Graduate students can use the award to help pay their studies. Depending on the amount of terms, it is worth between $10000 and $15000. The Ontario government and the destination school are both responsible for funding it. Depending on the department or program of study, the deadline varies.

Eligibility

The applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Enroll in a Master's or Doctoral-level graduate program.
  • Be enrolled in full-time study for at least two terms.
  • Have a valid student visa.
  • Attend a school in Ontario that is part of the program.

4. University of Calgary (private-sector sponsored scholarships)

Average tuition cost is $27,799.

Programs are for the Engineering, Business, Medicine, Veterinary Sciences and Development Studies.

5. Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award

This scholarship is open for undergraduate and masters degree studies at the University of British Columbia.

Eligibility:

The applicant must meet the following requirements:

  • Be submitting an application for his or her first degree
  • Become a global student.
  • You must have graduated from a recognized secondary school.
  • Be a straight A student.
  • Demonstrate a significant financial need.
  • By January 2022, you must have met the UBC English language admissions criteria.

6. University Canada West MBA scholarship

A tuition scholarship of up to $11700 is available.

Eligibility

  • Within the last five years, an acceptable GMAT and GRE score.
  • A business administration or commerce bachelor's degree is required.
  • Two years of professional experience is required.

7. University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship

The scholarship receives $2.1 million in support each year. It is open to all students, regardless of nationality, and is for all faculties except MBA students.

Eligibility

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required, while some faculties require a higher GPA.
  • He must be a full-time student with no financial assistance.
