Shanghai Government Scholarships - Apply Now

Application for the 2022 Shanghai Government Scholarships is now open and accepting applications. For eligibility and how to submit your application, simply read on and follow the instructions below.

Shanghai Government Scholarships

The scholarship programme aims is to enhance the development of the education of international student to study in Shanghai, and to encourage outstanding international students and scholars to study a degree programme at the East China Normal University (ECNU).

Eligibility:

• Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.
• Applicants for the pre-college program must have a high school diploma and be under 23.
• Applicants for the bachelor’s degree program must have a high school diploma and be under 25.
• Applicants for the master’s degree program must have a bachelor’s degree and be under 35.
• Applicants for the doctoral degree program must have a master’s degree and under 40.
• Applicants must have the following:
• For Chinese-taught programs: copy the effective (within 2 yrs) HSK certificate.
• For English taught programs: IELTS (6.0 or above) / TOFEL (85 or above) / Cambridge English (B2 or above) certificate

Eligible Countries: 

This scholarship is open for International students.

What is the Value of the Shanghai Government Scholarships?

This is full and partial scholarship, depending the level of study. 

Note: Recipients of the full scholarships will be exempted from tuition fee, and accommodation on campus; they will receive comprehensive medical insurance and monthly living stipend. Here is a breakdown of the monthly allowances.

• Undergraduate programme will receive CNY2,500,
• Masters programme will receive CNY3,000,
• Doctoral programme will receive CNY3,500;  

While those for partial scholarships, they will be exempted from tuition fee, and will be provided with comprehensive medical insurance only.

The number of available scholarship is unknown.
